8.30.13

The kids have been begging me to let them have a lemonade or iced tea stand all summer.  I keep reminding them that, especially during the work week, people often aren't home, with it being really hot we rarely see people going for walks, and even if they are they often don't have any money on them.  They wanted to try it anyway.  So, Emma made them this sign and they set up by the road.
And had zero customers.
Will this be the end of the lemonade stand?

  1. Awww...NO customers? Not even a few neighborhood kids?

  2. Absolutely zero. It was super hot that day, and I didn't see anyone playing outside at all. Our across the street retired neighbours must not have been home, because if they had seen that (and they were out there for at least 1 1/2 hrs!), they would've come over guaranteed. And probably left them a good sized tip.

IF they ever want to try again, I'll insist they wait for a Saturday.

I think they're spoiled with the community garage sale canteen they had and how busy that was.
