Today I left for our church's <strike> shopping trip </strike> ladies retreat in Fargo.  I headed down a bit early so I could get some shopping done, and I was looking forward to going to Long Horn Steakhouse for supper.  Yes, by myself.  Some people might not be comfortable with that.  But, let me tell you, as someone with 4 kids - eating by myself at a nice restaurant was glorious!!

Let the kids top their own pizzas for supper tonight, then it was off to church to drop Emma off for her first youth retreat!

Tonight was date night - our usual dinner and a movie, with a twist ..... we did not go to The Keg!  Instead, we tried a brand new restaurant!  A few months ago, one of Nathan's cousins told us about Pizzeria Gusto and that Andrew Ladd and his wife happened to be there while they were there for dinner one night.  Nathan and I were just joking around about seeing some more NHLers when in walked Frazer McLaren (an enforcer for the Toronto Maple Leafs)!

Nathan had "The Don" pizza (basically a meat lovers, but it was super spicy) and I had fettucine carbonara (basically bacon and cheese in a butter cream sauce).  He had a caesar salad and I had some flatbread (I shared a bit) which was absolutely delicious!

It was a quaint little restaurant though not quite as nice as I was expecting it to be (the tables/chairs looked like they could use replacing).  The pasta was good but not better than other places we've been to.  Nathan's pizza was good, but he said Diana's was better.  So, we would go back if we were with another couple that wanted to go there, but we'd probably try out a new place ourselves instead.

Nathan and I went on a date night while Emma babysat (love having a 12 yr old!!).  We picked out the rock we wanted for our yard (Falcon Beach rock), went to Diana's Gourmet Pizzeria for supper (my delicious panzerotti is featured below!) and to the mall.

Spent about 5 hrs in the pool after school, only stopping to enjoy grilled steak, sautéed mushrooms, rice/potatoes, fruit salad, bread on the covered deck. That's Sophia diving!
