I said that in Grade 7 Emma could start wearing makeup.  So today I took her for a makeup consultation at Sephora, and asked them to show her how to do a very natural, minimal, age appropriate look.  I was very happy with the results.  Then we took the colour suggestions to Target and bought cheaper stuff, and I'm saving the $50 Sephora gift card for myself :)

The kids have been begging me to let them have a lemonade or iced tea stand all summer.  I keep reminding them that, especially during the work week, people often aren't home, with it being really hot we rarely see people going for walks, and even if they are they often don't have any money on them.  They wanted to try it anyway.  So, Emma made them this sign and they set up by the road.

And had zero customers.

Will this be the end of the lemonade stand?

Today I got to meet an online friend in real life for the second time.  Albertans Nicole, her husband Lorne, and their 3 yr old son Eric were vacationing in Manitoba (they have relatives here), and took time to stop by our place for lunch and a swim - so fun!  Eric and Jacob had a blast playing in the pool together - and Eric even jumped off the diving rock, at age 3!

 Took some pictures of the kids today at the Steinbach Museum after the buffet lunch at the livery barn restaurant.  Not sure if we'll try a fall photo shoot yet for our Christmas pictures, but I did get a few good ones today.

Interior finishes on the outdoor bathroom are finally done.  Building that bathroom was the best decision (regarding the pool) that we've ever made - it's been used so much!
