1/2 cup melted butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 4 cups warm water 4 1/2 tsp quick rise yeast 9 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 2 cups white flour 1 tsp salt
Stir brown sugar into melted butter in large bowl. Stir yeast into warm water and add to butter/sugar mixture (I just stir it into the first 2 cup measuring cup full and then add another 2 cups). Add flours and salt. If you have a KitchenAid, simply mix till kneaded. If not, knead by hand! (Adjust flour as necessary)
Allow to rise for about an hour in a warm place.
Place inside cold oven. Bake at 375 for 37 mins (might be slightly different on your oven and depending on your pans). If you preheat before baking, then only bake for 25-30 mins.
Mmmm...reminds me I should really make bread again. But perhaps I could add a new recipe to my repertoire - care to share?
